HOW TO PREPARE BEFORE WAXING PROCEDURE
Hair should be at least the size of a grain of corn or half an inch long.
YOU MUST WAIT 3 WEEKS AFTER SHAVING BEFORE WAXING. This will ensure you achieve the best result possible.
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CLEAN THE FRONT AND BACK[CRACK] AREA BEFORE BRAZILIAN WAXING PROCEDURE.
1. Wash the area thoroughly or wipe the area with body wipes.
***cleaning the area will help prevent your skin from infection and irritations.
2.It is recommended to use baby oil to the "Bikini / Brazilian" area 30 minutes before your waxing procedure. Oil help the wax from getting into the skin and only adheres to the hair.
Do not cut your hair, We will trim the hair if needed.
No tanning at least a week before and a week after waxing procedure.
-Most clients could take 2 pain relievers 30 minutes before their waxing procedure and some of them would apply at the same time a topical numbing gel
for tooth pain like ambesol which you can get over the counter at the drug stores. Please make sure you are not allergic to the medication.
-We suggest not having your waxing procedure, specially with brazilian, on your cycle or 3 days before and after. Since your skin is sensitive during this period due to to enlarged blood vessels.
-If you think your skin is dry or sensitive for brazilian/bikini procedure. Please apply baby oil to the area 30 minutes before your brazilian/bikini procedure. This will make the wax adhere to the hair only and not to the skin.
-Do not drink alcohol when getting waxed since alcohol makes the skin sensitive when taken. Alcohol dilates the blood vessels in the skin, resulting in slow blood circulation.
Note; if you have been shaving, expect hair breakage during waxing. It takes series of waxing to normalize the growth and thinning of the hair. Also, your skin will be sensitive to waxing after shaving since the skin gets to be tender from exfoliation often when shaved.
*We refuse to do the procedure if your hair is not ready for waxing or your skin is still sensitive from tanning.
*time frame in between waxing is every 4 to 5 weeks. Hair starts to grow back in 2 to 3 weeks after waxing hair removal, depending on the type of hair one has.
The more you wax regularly, the easier it the gets. It is not advisable to shave in between waxing since it will make the hair coarser and the skin will be very sensitive to your next waxing procedure.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
*** DOES IT HURT?
There is some pain involved, however most women find it quite tolerable. Our staff work quickly and because of our exclusive technique the pain is greatly minimized.
***HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT TO GET WAXED AFTER I'VE SHAVED?
3-4 weeks is recommended as it takes 1 week to 1 1/2 week to grow out each of the 3 cycles. Exfoliation during this time will also help you to achieve the best result possible.
***IS IT OKAY TO SHAVE BETWEEN WAX APPOINTMENTS
Waxing slow down and reduces hair growth. Hair also grows much thinner thus making it easier to remove and less painful when waxed. Shaving just one time in between will reverse all that is gained from waxing and can further irritate follicles which can cause ingrown hair. so no, we don't advise shaving in between.
***WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTERWARDS?
The waxed skin might be tender for a couple of day. We advise taking Ibuprofen to decrease inflammation and skin sensitivity. Skin may break out in tiny bumps, especially when waxed for the first time. This reaction is normal and clears up quickly. We recommend applying Hydrocortisone cream to speed healing.
***WHAT CAN I DO TO PREPARE FOR THE BRAZILIAN WAX?
Taking Ibuprofen 1/2 hour to 1 hour prior to your visit and avoiding caffeine and alcohol help to reduce the pain factor. We also carry PFB topical anesthetic which can be applied 10-15 min. before your appointment.
***WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT INGROWN HAIR?
Exfoliating in the shower with a loofah everyday helps to keep the skin free from cellular buildup which can trap hair. We carry PFB which helps to prevent and clear the skin of ingrown hair.
***DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT?
We do accept walk-in however we recommend scheduling in advance so as to avoid an extended wait. If you are unable to keep your appointment we appreciate you calling in. You will not be charge unless you fail to cancel.
***CAN I TAN BEFORE OR AFTER I GET WAXED?
You should wait 2-3 days to get waxed after you have tanned. You should never get waxed if you are sunburned or even if skin is pink. The very top layer of skin could pull off or "lift" which is painful and can result in scabbing, You should wait for 2-3 day after you have waxed to tan. Waxed skin is more photosensitive and is more susceptible to burning.
